9 Months Old!!

I am sad yet excited that my miracle baby is going to be 9 months old this weekend! I am shocked at how quickly they grow, everyone says to enjoy the time because it goes by fast, boy are they right. Jace has had quite a few milestones along with exciting things going on I will try to cover them all!

Jace now babbles all the time. I thought when he first started that it was great, but now it is like entertainment for Mike and I. We crack up because of the facial expressions he does while doing "baby talk." He also says "DADA" all the time. I keep trying to teach him "MAMA" but he would rather continue with the DADA for now.

Jace is quite the little mover! He does not do your typical crawl, he does the I don't feel like getting my belly completely off the floor crawl. But he gets where he wants to go! This week he started trying to pull himself up. He manages to almost get the entire way to his feet. Does this mean trouble in the near future? He also loves to ride on those cute little ride on toys. We have 3 different ones and depending on the day is which one he is content with. I think the Einstein jumper is soon to be put in the basement. He now lasts about 5 minutes before he wants out. I used to put him in it while I showered or did laundry but I guess it is time to come up with a new plan?

hmm- What trouble can we get into today Boe?

This past week Jace has refused to eat any more baby like consistency of food. I am not sure what happened but at his nearly 9 month check up the Pediatrician told me just to feed him whatever we are eating now! He still has no teeth so this does make me nervous but with my type "A" personality I am right there to make sure he swallows his food! At his 9 month check up he was 20 pounds and 28 and 1/2 inches long. This is great because Jace has always been a shorty- Mike is 6'1 so I was sure he got my short stubby legs- but maybe he just needed his own time to grow! He was 18 inches and 6 pounds 7 oz at birth- at his 6 month appointment he was 19 pounds and 25 inches so he has grown in the past 3 months!

We finished up swimming lessons with our friends and their son Gavin. This has helped us transition Jace from the baby bath tub to the adult bath tub. Jace loves laying down and kicking his feet, he crawls around in the tub now, and splashes and plays with toys. He now has started crying when we take him out of the tub- rather than before when he went in it!

This month Jace experienced his first out of state trip! We flew to Arizona to visit Uncle Jacob and meet his girlfriend Megan. Jace slept the entire way there and back! When we were getting of the plane many passengers commented on how we had a great little traveler. I hope so because Mike and I sure love to travel!

I have 2 months from today until I "officially" graduate with my Masters. I am extremely excited to have this part of my career finished! I am even looking into PhD programs for Nursing. I think I will take a 4 year break from school- since I have not stopped since preschool (really-what was I thinking?) Mike and I are trying to plan a trip this fall for a week to drive around through the U.P. I have not ever been to the U.P. before so we were thinking of taking a 10 day drive with the truck and camper to experience some of Michigan! We are also planning a 5 year wedding anniversary vacation (sans Jace) I know my cousin does this with her husband- and she survives so I am hoping that Mike and I are able to take some 5 day alone trip- we are thinking either Mexico or St. Thomas this time!

I think I have did most the updates for now! I am loving working the night shift and spending most of my time with Jace! I would sacrifice sleep any day to spend one more moment with my little boy!

It's Been a While!

Well with finishing up school and training in my new position at Hurley I have not had much time to blog! Jace is a roller. He is 8 months and does not care to crawl yet. He rolls around the house and gets to where he wants so I think he is perfectly content with that! He also started swimming lessons with some of our friends son Gavin a few weeks ago. Gavin just turned one! We have been trying to get the boys together as much as we can to play since they both stay at home and don't do much of getting out around other kids like at a daycare of babysitter on a daily basis. Jace is now eating pretty much anything. The thing that I find difficult is that he refuses to feed himself. We have tried with puffs, every food pretty much, and he does not want to put it in his mouth yet! He would rather smash it with his hand and all over the tray to his high chair lol.

I think Jace's favorite thing now is to look at books. His dad reads sort of loud to him so whenever you hand Jace a book he screams in baby talk like he is reading. It is pretty comical to us! I have really been enjoying the more time I get to spend with Jace since I have switched to night shift. I am so thankful to have an awesome sitter and supportive family that make it possible for me to work this shift!

Oh! We still do not have any teeth....but I am thinking maybe by the time he is a year one might pop out? ha!

I know it is cold in MI but no need to stay indoors all the time!

We have a mover!

Jace is 6 months old! He is rolling and trying to crawl! I wanted him to wait until after Christmas but we shall see what happens in the next few weeks! He has been very interested in the Christmas tree and the dogs. He rolls under the tree and grabs the presents and shakes them. He likes the crackling sound of the paper so this should be a fun holiday!
The other day we were trying to get a good picture of Jace with Boe and Blitzen for Christmas but it was harder than we thought to get all three to look and stay! This was a cute one we captured of Jace trying to open Blitzen's present.

This is Lauren, Ben, Jace, and Caroline on Thanksgiving! Annie seems to always be sleeping when we happen to get a picture of all of them!
Things are starting to slow down as the Fall semester at Saginaw Valley is coming to an end! I am done with my own classes and only have a couple more times to go up there! Now onto doing my clinical and research. We will be having a busy but fun holiday season coming up!

First Halloween!

Our "roaring" lion on Halloween!

Daddy is teasing him :)

Sad the Tigers didn't win :(
Our little Miracle Jace!

Jace had a great time during his first Halloween. He was a lion...and the video below you will hear that he likes to "roar" now! I think he learned this at daycare as one of the older 1 year olds roars at Jace according to Miss Kay the daycare lady :) Jace also now can not only jump in his jumperoo but also spins himself around like crazy! He is now eating cereal and yellow vegetables. He loves squash but does not care for carrots at all! We have tried the carrots twice now and he takes one bite then spits them out at you. It is great to see that Jace is growing and learning so much but makes me sad that he is already 5 months old! This time is going by way too fast!

Updates :)

Jace by his first pumpkin from his cousin Brad :)

He is much better at sitting up by himself now! He can last about 30 seconds already!
Our traditional photo with the duck from Aunt Heather and Uncle Travis at 4 months old!

He had a playdate with his buddy Silas. It was pretty funny at one point Silas started crying and Jace looked at him and started "sympathy" crying with him! Mallory (Silas's mommy) and I were pretty much crying laughing!

I have accepted a new position at Hurley and will be cutting down the amount of days that I am away from Jace significantly! I am excited for my new role and can't wait to be able to spend more time with my little one! Working 5 days with 3 of them being 12 hours shifts and going to school has been a rough road and I am looking forward to having more time with my little boy!

4 months old, Road trip, and Laughing!

It has been a while since I posted....I have been busy with work and school this last week! A week ago Jace took his first road trip to Chicago :) His cousin Lauren was having her 4th birthday party and just moved into their new house so we decided to head over there and make a visit. He was an excellent traveler and only woke up on his normal schedule which is every 3 to 4 hours! Here are a few pictures from the trip!

Jace's first time down a slide!
We had a nice time in Chicago and are excited to see everyone again at Thanksgiving! Some new things that Jace is up to now is being very interested in his books. He talks the entire time he is read to now! He also has really started noticing his dogs Boe and Blitzen as well as rolling and laying a lot on his side. He also is laughing up a storm these days! He has only laughed once for me, but all the time for Mike...his dad is a funny guy! We also started feeding him cereal this month! He loves it so much! He is 4 months old and growing too quickly! I will end this post with a great picture of him eating his cereal :)

Growing so Fast!

This was my first full week back to work and school! I am exhausted and thankful to have this weekend off to spend the time with Jace. It is horrible working 12 hours shifts (13) with the commute and basically not seeing him at all for multiple days in a row...He has become very verbal this past week! I love recording him cooing these days. We found a wonderful in home babysitter along with the help of family and daycare he had a exciting week!

Two Months Old!

Three Months Old! The duck keeps getting smaller :)

He can now sort of use his jumperoo from Aunt Heather and Uncle Travis. We do have to put 2 pillows under him (his feet are about 8 inches from touching the ground still) but he does enjoy looking and trying to touch all of the toys! He is growing so fast, but as he goes through each stage I think I love them all!
