We have a mover!

Jace is 6 months old! He is rolling and trying to crawl! I wanted him to wait until after Christmas but we shall see what happens in the next few weeks! He has been very interested in the Christmas tree and the dogs. He rolls under the tree and grabs the presents and shakes them. He likes the crackling sound of the paper so this should be a fun holiday!
The other day we were trying to get a good picture of Jace with Boe and Blitzen for Christmas but it was harder than we thought to get all three to look and stay! This was a cute one we captured of Jace trying to open Blitzen's present.

This is Lauren, Ben, Jace, and Caroline on Thanksgiving! Annie seems to always be sleeping when we happen to get a picture of all of them!
Things are starting to slow down as the Fall semester at Saginaw Valley is coming to an end! I am done with my own classes and only have a couple more times to go up there! Now onto doing my clinical and research. We will be having a busy but fun holiday season coming up!

First Halloween!

Our "roaring" lion on Halloween!

Daddy is teasing him :)

Sad the Tigers didn't win :(
Our little Miracle Jace!

Jace had a great time during his first Halloween. He was a lion...and the video below you will hear that he likes to "roar" now! I think he learned this at daycare as one of the older 1 year olds roars at Jace according to Miss Kay the daycare lady :) Jace also now can not only jump in his jumperoo but also spins himself around like crazy! He is now eating cereal and yellow vegetables. He loves squash but does not care for carrots at all! We have tried the carrots twice now and he takes one bite then spits them out at you. It is great to see that Jace is growing and learning so much but makes me sad that he is already 5 months old! This time is going by way too fast!

Updates :)

Jace by his first pumpkin from his cousin Brad :)

He is much better at sitting up by himself now! He can last about 30 seconds already!
Our traditional photo with the duck from Aunt Heather and Uncle Travis at 4 months old!

He had a playdate with his buddy Silas. It was pretty funny at one point Silas started crying and Jace looked at him and started "sympathy" crying with him! Mallory (Silas's mommy) and I were pretty much crying laughing!

I have accepted a new position at Hurley and will be cutting down the amount of days that I am away from Jace significantly! I am excited for my new role and can't wait to be able to spend more time with my little one! Working 5 days with 3 of them being 12 hours shifts and going to school has been a rough road and I am looking forward to having more time with my little boy!

4 months old, Road trip, and Laughing!

It has been a while since I posted....I have been busy with work and school this last week! A week ago Jace took his first road trip to Chicago :) His cousin Lauren was having her 4th birthday party and just moved into their new house so we decided to head over there and make a visit. He was an excellent traveler and only woke up on his normal schedule which is every 3 to 4 hours! Here are a few pictures from the trip!

Jace's first time down a slide!
We had a nice time in Chicago and are excited to see everyone again at Thanksgiving! Some new things that Jace is up to now is being very interested in his books. He talks the entire time he is read to now! He also has really started noticing his dogs Boe and Blitzen as well as rolling and laying a lot on his side. He also is laughing up a storm these days! He has only laughed once for me, but all the time for Mike...his dad is a funny guy! We also started feeding him cereal this month! He loves it so much! He is 4 months old and growing too quickly! I will end this post with a great picture of him eating his cereal :)

Growing so Fast!

This was my first full week back to work and school! I am exhausted and thankful to have this weekend off to spend the time with Jace. It is horrible working 12 hours shifts (13) with the commute and basically not seeing him at all for multiple days in a row...He has become very verbal this past week! I love recording him cooing these days. We found a wonderful in home babysitter along with the help of family and daycare he had a exciting week!
When Jace was 2 weeks old!

One Month Old!
Two Months Old!

Three Months Old! The duck keeps getting smaller :)

He can now sort of use his jumperoo from Aunt Heather and Uncle Travis. We do have to put 2 pillows under him (his feet are about 8 inches from touching the ground still) but he does enjoy looking and trying to touch all of the toys! He is growing so fast, but as he goes through each stage I think I love them all!

Back to Work!

Well yesterday was my first day back to work....it was not easy but I made it through the 13 hours without Jace. The charge nurse gave me a very nice and busy assignment which made it go by fairly fast! Jace got to spend the day with my mom since she doesn't start school until after Labor Day. Jace just starting using his voice a lot more than he has! I was on my way home from work and Mike had me on speaker phone...he was talking back to me like crazy (in baby talk of course!)

Jace has this new thing for needing to feel secure...he holds onto his blanket, toys, or even the side of the swing :)
He has grown to 24 inches long and 12 pounds! Almost doubling his birth weight already by 3 months!
This is a preview of his 3 month photos! I am excited to see more!

I will be learning to adjust between work and school and having time with Jace these next few weeks but am looking forward to Thanksgiving time so I will be almost done with classes and can just focus on work and being a mom!

Remembering Uncle Rich

Our Uncle Rich passed away Saturday the 18th of August. It was unexpected so I think it was a little shocking for the family. I have some good memories with Uncle Rich being at the farm because I babysat McKenzie and Madison for a few summers. He was always great to us and would bring us Slurpee's from Burger King and a lot of times he would bring McDonald's french fries because the girls were addicted to them when they were little (they were always large or super sized!) I know he will be missed by his family but there are many great memories to hold on to. At his memorial we were able to catch up with family members and celebrate his life. There were many great stories told, and laughter shared. My favorite memory of Uncle Rich is when I walked out to the pole barn while babysitting the girls one day and he was out there tanning in his bathing suit...not what I expected to see :) The following is some photos from the dinner!
First we start off with Cousin Sheila holding Jace

These are the newest additions to the family...
Ben is almost 3 months, Caroline is 2 weeks, and Jace
who is 2 and 1/2 months.

Caroline was so awake :)

                                                     Sheila had the magic touch!

Finally, Great, Great Aunt Sheila holding Jace!

It was a unfortunate event, but created a time for our family to come together and share old memories and make new ones. We love you and will always remember you Uncle Rich!

Shots!

Today was a rough one! Jace had to get his 2 month shots :( I was not impressed that because we have private insurance that we are not able to get the combo shots and he had to be poked 4 separate times! He was extra crabby tonight....but I gave him some Tylenol and now he is sleeping fairly soundly. I am hoping that he will continue to sleep through the night and be better by tomorrow!

Hello!

We are new to the blog world....I had a course in grad school last semester that encouraged the use of blogging and two of my cousins use a blog, so I figured why not try it! I will start with our current life situation...I am a nurse and my husband is the foreman of a steel and concrete company. We just had our first baby, a boy that we named Jace in May. I have been working on my Master's degree since 2009 and will have it finished in May of 2013. I have two weeks left of maternity leave and will be struggling these next few months with working, trying to finish school, and learning how to juggle all of this with being a fairly new mommy!

These are two of my favorite photos of Jace! He is 10 weeks old and now smiling, cooing, rolling over, and he just found his hands this week! I did not realize how much fun you have with a newborn! I am not looking forward to going back to work in a few weeks because I am nervous about having Jace go to daycare and being away from him for 12 hour shifts. I will try to work through Christmas and then decide from there what is best for us as far as me working! (Can you tell that I have the mind set that I need to be a stay at home mommy?!) We are glad to become part of the blogging world!
